Kaia's checkup update

Kaia's checkup went well.  Only one problem, there were a bunch of sick kids at the pediatrician's office (we debated on postponing due to the swine flu, but there are so far no cases in Alameda Co.).

Anyway, here are the numbers:
Length: 22.5" 45% of average

Weight: 11lbs, 1.6oz 50%

Head OD: 37.8cm 10%

Quite remarkable.  Not only does this represent a major jump in her percentiles over the past month, but there are very similar to Riley's distribution at the same age , if not the numbers - taking into account Kaia's delayed start.

Kaia has her first round of shots today, and an official weigh in at her belated two month wellness check.
Today is also Colleen's birthday, so make sure you call her and wish her a happy b-day!

All of the sudden, Kaia loves to play with toys, and especially with her big sister.

She has become a new baby.  Eats well, smiles a lot, likes to grab at her toys, and absolutely loves watching Riley.

Now, if you haven't noticed already, this isn't a picture of Kaia, it is Colleen and her mommy in 1972!  

Some similarities?  Do we finally know who Kaia takes after?  Did Colleen spit up a lot when she was a baby?  

Amazing.

Kaia has become such a chow hound, but with it, comes the spit up monkey. I don't mind too much when she continues to gain weight, though.

Unbelievable, 8lbs 7oz

Kaia weighed in at 8-7 today. Isn't that unbelievable?
Unbelievable; isn't that the most over used and, inapropriately used
word? I hear it in just about every interview on the radio, multiple
times! Simply unbelievable! And to me, most of the things that
garner the word are completely believable. I offer up a few optional
words: nice, well done, enjoyable, exceptional, unusual, and? Can
you think of some other words? Can you think of something you've
seen or done that warrants the use of that word? Me either.
Anyway, Kaia is growing so fast now, it is simply unbelievable, er, I
mean fantastic.
