The rain cut short our ride last night, but brought with it some nice

cloud cover and looks to have put out the big fire from Sunday.

You can just see the waterfall (which was raging a few weeks ago) on the right, and the valley to the left.

Started off pretty mellow, for the first 50 meters.

Got hot and steep, so a rest was in order.

And a cool bath for the dogs.

It just kept going up and up.

Coming out of the Bitterroots after a day of hiking to find a small fire on a peak in the Sapphire's.

And within a few hours the fire grew and grew. Now it is quite massive.

Some nice views in the Sapphires.

But you have to ride up this, 1500 feet in 3 miles or so. Tough going up, sketchy going down.

There are some nice trails once you are on the ridge line.
